Overview

Riven Shield Dynamics is an in-game shield equipment and animation resource with shield selection, raised and lowered stances, synchronized shield presentation, configurable shield models, and durability/protection settings. The reviewed 1.0.0 package contains tactical, riot, standard, and LASD-related model variants.

This guide covers the base reviewed archive. The separately packaged animation update should not automatically be treated as installed in every customer's resource. Read its INSTALL.txt and verify compatibility with the base build before applying it.

Installation

  1. Copy the complete riven_shield_dynamics resource to the FiveM server.
  2. Add the exact resource name to server.cfg:
cfg
ensure riven_shield_dynamics
  1. Review the configuration for available equipment, keys, model attachment positions, and optional permissions.
  2. If developer alignment mode was enabled during development, turn it off for a public release. The README specifically identifies Config.Developer.alignment = false.
  3. Test model streaming, appearance, synchronization, and control conflicts in a real FiveM session.

Commands and controls

Command or keyFunction
/shieldOpen the shield equipment menu
/shield tacticalSelect the configured tactical variant
/shield riotSelect the configured riot variant
/shield standardSelect the configured standard variant
/shield lasdSelect the LASD variant
/shield removePut away the equipped shield

QDefault raise action
Left CtrlDefault crouch action while a shield is equipped
HDefault integrated shield light action, where supported

The package also documents developer alignment and an administrator repair command. Those functions should be restricted or left out of general player instructions unless their permissions are configured for the server.

Configuration

config.lua contains per-variant model references, animation poses, movement behavior, durability, handling, camera presentation, and optional permissions. Use the built-in attachment/alignment workflow only when preparing approved custom models and variations.

The README documents optional ACE permission controls with Config.UsePermissions and examples including riven.shield.use and riven.shield.dev. These are not mandatory for the default standalone deployment; verify the intended access model before handing the resource to all players.

Model and animation limitations

Visual alignment can differ with custom player models, clothing, animation packs, and first-person camera changes. A streamed prop being present does not prove that its attachment, animation, or collision setup is correct in every environment.

The base README explicitly separates file-level checks from in-game testing. This documentation therefore does not describe the shield resource as fully tested on every server, or claim that an optional animation patch has already been applied.

Troubleshooting

Shield is not visible: Confirm required streamed files are present and check the FiveM client console for model-load errors.

Shield appears in the wrong place: Review its attachment profile and test compatibility with the server's player models and animation resources.

Shield input interferes with another action: Change the relevant FiveM key binding or product control setting.

Equipment state remains stuck: Follow the packaged /shield reset recovery instructions, then inspect console errors if the problem returns.
