Overview

Riven Vehicle HUD is a vehicle instrumentation interface with speed, revs, gear indication, fuel information, trip/odometer information, location data, selected warning indicators, and driving controls. The reviewed package also implements its own vehicle fuel behavior and refueling interactions.

The interface can be configured for a centered dashboard or an alternate right-side position. Aircraft information and unit switching are documented in the packaged README.

Installation

  1. Copy Riven_Vehicle_HUD into the resource directory.
  2. Review config.lua, especially fuel behavior and Config.Framework.
  3. Remove or disable any competing fuel resource before switching live vehicles to this system.
  4. Add the resource to server.cfg:
cfg
ensure Riven_Vehicle_HUD

The reviewed standalone configuration uses Config.Framework = 'none'. The package also documents ESX/QBCore payment settings if those environments are intentionally supported by the server.

Fuel behavior

This build manages tank state, fuel consumption, and refueling. The packaged README describes pump interactions at a vehicle's fuel-cap location, with an on-screen pump interface. It also documents fuel cans and an electric-vehicle charging representation for configured vehicles.

Before deploying, review fuel rates, prices, fuel station behavior, vehicle tank sizes, and payment configuration in config.lua. Do not present one fuel-consumption estimate as accurate for all vehicles or server configurations.

Integration with Impact Dynamics

The Riven Impact Dynamics package reads compatible external fuel state through configurable integration. Avoid giving two resources authority to write fuel values. If there is a fuel leak or damage interaction, test that it updates the expected vehicle state and does not cause rapid or duplicated fuel loss.

The vehicle dashboard's parking brake and seatbelt indicators can read states supplied by the crash resource. Do not enable two competing seatbelt controllers merely because both UIs offer an indicator.

Troubleshooting

Duplicate gauges: Disable overlapping elements in other HUDs; Riven HUD and Vehicle HUD serve different purposes.

Fuel changes unexpectedly: Check for another running fuel script and confirm the selected framework/payment mode.

Vehicle state and indicator disagree: Confirm that only one resource controls the relevant state and that any integration uses the resource names in the installed builds.

HUD is off-screen: Open /hudconfig and reset or adjust placement.
